Mandarin duck

The male mandarin duck is aesy to recognize during the breeding season.

Indeed he wears a magnificent breeding plumage with orange feathers raised in fan at the end of its wings.

At the end of the breeding season (at the end of spring), he loses this beautiful plumage and becomes identical to the female, which has a drab brown – gray plumage.
